Parkview Hong Kong Residence
This 2308sqft hill top apartment overlooks into the protected Tai Tam Country Park in Hong Kong,. The client is a private collector of eclectic art pieces and artifacts and they wanted a smart and elegant setting to display their varied collection. A modern English inspired interior was unequivocal to tie it all together, starting with the rich Oak timber floor, a consistent nexus for all rooms throughout the whole apartment.
The walls around the entrance are patterned by 3mm stainless steel grid frames and filled in with a denim colored English wallpaper. The contrasting one piece white stone console becomes the centerpiece at the entrance where art pieces can be displayed. Around the corner from the console, is a bronze Buddha statue and a custom cantilevered console in the same white stone top that separates the entrance and the living areas. The apartment has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, a generous size dining, TV lounge, a library, reading area and kitchen. The kitchen has a fully integrated Gaggenau fridge and freezer, fully integrated Eurocave wine fridge and its own powder room for guest.
To maximize visuals of the art works, the general lighting throughout the apartment were specifically designed to be soft and indirect. Only specific recessed spotlights from the ceiling, some cabinet lighting and wall lamps were specifically chosen to illuminate art works. The lighting is controlled by a Lutron system to achieve the right ambiance.
